From the Farley Brothers Family,
With our years of experience in moving your valuable possessions, furniture and businesses, we have answered a lot of questions from home and businesses owners.
Of the many questions we field, the following is a list of the most generally asked questions that will cover almost every type of move. If you have any questions that are not answered here, please feel free to contact at anytime during our regular business hours, and we will be happy to answer them.
Thank You
- Q: How can I pay for my move?
- A: Payment can be made by Cashier's check, money order, cash or credit card. At this time we don not accept American Express or personal checks.
- Q: Does Insurance included with my move?
- A: Standard insurance on a move is 60 cents per pound per article, although additional insurance is available on request.
- Q: Do you have to come to my house and do a visual survey before you can give me a written estimate?
- A: Yes. Interstate moves legally require a visual survey before a written estimate can be given.
On local moves, we choose to do a visual survey to insure that you will get the proper equipment and crew for a safer move.
- Q: Can I leave my clothes in my dresser drawers?
- A: If your items are from residence to residence, not residence to storage, it is acceptable to leave the clothes in the drawers. Please remove all breakable, leakable, minute items and anything that will roll around during transportation.
- Q: Does my refrigerator need to be empty?
- A: Yes. Please empty your fridge and freezer of all food items for safer transportation.
- Q: Does my TV have to be boxed?
- A: No. We will pad and wrap your TV and add it to the load.
- Q: Do you disconnect electronics (i.e., Computers, TVs, Stereo, Cable box, DVD Players, etc)?
- A: No. The customer is responsible for disconnecting all electronic equipment.
- Q: Do you disconnect and reconnect washers, dryers, and icemakers?
- A: No. Due to a liability, we are not responsible for servicing your appliances.
- Q: What will the movers disassemble and reassemble?
- A: Beds, Entertainment Centers, Hutches (only non-pressed wood items).
- Q: What cannot go into the truck?
- A: Chemicals of any kind (no exceptions), Gas, Kerosene, Nail Polish Remover, Propane tanks, Paint, Cleaning Products, Aerosol Cans, spray or otherwise, and light bulbs. If you have questions about any items that may be questionable, your Move Coordinator will be able to answer them.
- Q: Can you move my vehicles?
- A: Yes. There are several options. Please consult your Move Coordinator for these options.
- Q: Can you move dirt bikes, quads, ATVs, motorcycles and other outdoor recreation vehicles?
- A:
Yes, however all equipment must be drained of all fuel before transporting them. Please consult your Move Coordinator.
- Q: Can you move my plants?
- A: No, according to the law, live plants can not be transported across state lines. On local moves, it is for the protection of your furniture that we don't put plants on our trucks.
